Total Time 10 minutes
Servings: 8 small servings (about 1 tbsp each)

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 113 g, cut into pieces
  • 3 medium garlic cloves finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt plus more to taste
  • A small pinch of freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Place the butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Let it melt slowly, stirring occasionally.
  2. Stir in the finely minced garlic. Cook gently for about 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and slightly softened. Keep the heat low enough that the garlic does not brown.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the parsley, salt and pepper. Add the optional lemon juice carefully and stir well.
  4. Taste a small spoonful once it has cooled enough. Adjust the seasoning, then transfer to a heatproof serving bowl. Serve warm and stir occasionally.

Notes

Times cover the sauce only; prepare vegetables separately. Keep the heat low so the garlic softens without browning.
