Easy Vegetable Dip Recipe for Fresh Veggies

A creamy, herby vegetable dip made with Greek yogurt, sour cream, lemon, garlic, dill and chives for serving with fresh vegetables.
Prep Time 10 minutes
Optional chilling 30 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes
Course: Appetizer, dip

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 small garlic clove finely grated or minced
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt plus more to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Combine the base. Add the Greek yogurt and sour cream to a medium bowl and stir until smooth.
  2. Add the flavorings. Stir in the lemon juice, garlic, dill, chives, parsley and onion powder until evenly combined.
  3. Season and adjust. Add the salt and black pepper, then taste. If you want a slightly looser dip, stir in a teaspoon of cold water at a time.
  4. Chill and serve. For the best flavor, cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes so the garlic and herbs can blend into the creamy base. Stir again before serving with fresh vegetables.

Notes

For the best texture, use thick Greek yogurt rather than regular plain yogurt. The 30-minute chilling time is recommended for the best flavor. Total time includes this optional chilling; active preparation takes about 10 minutes.
