Whipped Feta Dip

This whipped feta dip is creamy, tangy, and just salty enough to make a plate of fresh vegetables more exciting. Feta cheese, thick Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and olive oil blend into a smooth, fluffy dip that works especially well with cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, and radis

Ingredients

  • 8 oz feta cheese 225 g; Use a block of feta packed in brine if available. Drain it before blending.
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt 120 g; Choose a thick, unsweetened yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil Adds richness and helps create a smooth texture.
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Brightens the salty cheese.
  • ½ teaspoon finely grated lemon zest Optional, for a more noticeable lemon flavor.
  • 1 small garlic clove Optional, for a savory kick.
  • Freshly ground black pepper To taste.
  • Fresh dill or parsley Optional garnish.

Method

  1. Drain the feta and break it into small pieces. If it feels very firm, let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes while you prepare the other ingredients.
  2. Add the feta, Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, and optional garlic to a food processor. Process for 1–2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides, until the mixture starts to look creamy.
  3. Continue processing for another 1–2 minutes, or until the dip is as smooth as your equipment allows. Some feta varieties remain slightly grainy, which is normal. If the mixture is too thick to blend, add another tablespoon of Greek yogurt and process again. Avoid pouring in water unless absolutely necessary.
  4. Taste the dip. Add lemon zest or black pepper if desired. Transfer it to a shallow bowl and use the back of a spoon to create a few swirls. Drizzle lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with fresh dill or parsley. Serve immediately or refrigerate until needed.

Notes
